Director: N/A
Format: CD/NTSC VHS
Catalog Number: NSK2CDX
Language: English
Date: 1996
Running Time: 60 minutes
Groups Covered: Laibach
Synopsis: Laibach’s performance in Sarajevo during the war. Also features a small amount of documentary footage of the NSK Embassy set up at that time, and an excellent speech by the Department of Pure and Applied Philosophy. The concert itself is marred by superimposed imagery from Laibach’s projection screen.
Title: Laibach: A Film From Slovenia (AKA Bravo)
Director: Daniel Landin
Format: NTSC VHS
Catalog Number: ATV34
Language: English
Date: 1993
Running Time: 60 minutes
Groups Covered: Laibach
Synopsis: The most widely known of the Laibach documentaries, but also the weakest. Chris Bohn’s script is too light for Laibach, and much of the visuals are from the Kapital tour (silver face paint, winged helmets, etc.) Nevertheless, the documentary does show a fair amount of Laibach’s video and stage performance work.
Title: Predictions of Fire
Director: Michael Benson
Format: NTSC VHS, PAL VHS
Catalog Number:
Language: English, Slovenian
Running Time: 90 min.
Date: 1996
Groups Covered: NSK, Laibach and IRWIN focus
Synopsis: The best of the Laibach documentaries by far. This film treats the NSK as an important part of Yugoslavia’s history and shows how the last 60 years have created the the political and social situations that gave rise to Laibach.
Title: Victory Under the Sun
Director:
Format: NTSC VHS
Catalog Number:
Language: Slovenian
Date:
Running Time:
Groups Covered: Laibach
Synopsis: Early Laibach documentary. My copy has no English subtitles, but even so it is clearly a superior documentary to BRAVO. Laibach is more theatrical, with staged speeches and lots of walking shots, but the visit to Tomaz Hostnik’s grave is especially well done.
Title: Laibach: Video Compilation
Director:
Format: NTSC VHS
Catalog Number: N/A
Language: English
Date:
Running Time:
Groups Covered: Laibach
Synopsis: Mute promotional tape of Laibach video clips. Although not as pristine or complete as the DVD colection of Laibach’s videos, this tape retains the edgy feeling of subversive, underground information that all scraps of Laibach data used to carry. For that alone it is worthwhile.
